Working on an awesome adventure/conservation project right now

The Epicocity Crew is working on a really exciting project right now that uses exploratory whitewater kayaking to tell the story of receding glaciers. We just got back from a National Geographic expedition to Bolivia, where we collaborated with local Hydrologist Edson Ramirez to investigate the glacial recession that will very soon deplete the capital region's water supply. We also spent several days exploring some incredible class V on the Zongo River.

The Bolivia expedition was part of our year-long exploration of climate change issues powered by whitewater kayak. We'll also by filming with local experts and kayakers in the High Sierras of California, the Cascades of Washington and the Rockies of British Columbia. Then this October, we're releasing a film chronicling this investigation and partnering with global conservation organization 350.org for a North American premiere on October 22nd. The premiere will be two days before a 350.org international day of action against climate change.

I just posted a quick look back at our Bolivia expedition on the Wend Magazine blog.

Hope that everyone is gearing up for an awesome spring! Let me know if you want to hook up in the Sierras in June for some paddling.

Cheers!
