"I think it's a really healthy lifestyle," Christie said as she explained to me why she loves kayaking.  Most people might not think that setting world records for waterfall descents is necessarily a "healthy" lifestyle, but it definitely keeps Christie motivated and excited about life.  So motivated in fact, that she was just chosen for the 2011 All Oregon Academic Team because of her nursing school successes.
