They old saying "be carefull what you wish for" has never been so evident as last months flooding in the southern US. The first weekend in may, rains took thousands out of their homes and ruined busines for many of the historic bars and shops that started so much country music. Whats being called the "Nashville Flood" took 27 lives, and caused damage that you can't put a price on, not to mention leaving the Opry Land Hotel under water. It really put a new meaning on "pray for rain" for myself and the whitewater community.
On the bright side, the heavy rainfall amounts this spring have led to some positives in the world of whitewater. Kayakers were able to get runs on Bear Creek, Pocket Creek, Opossum, countless Little River Canyon runs, Johnnies, Jones, Raven Fork, and many many more.
