Dagger

As the water begins to dry up and the first signs of fall are in the air, our whitewater challenges often dwindle and we're left "sans adrenaline" until next year. Now is the time to pick you "off-season" challenge and get to work. Most importantly, do this for a good cause. It's always even more rewarding to finish these challenges if we can do them for something bigger than ourselves.

As an example, I hate running so I've decided to challenge myself with running the NYC Marathon this November. Don't you worry, I'll be posting soon asking for your support, but, for now, it's about YOU picking something that CHALLENGES you! It's your metaphorical rapid in the off season and all the proceeds raised from your efforts will go to benefit First Descents and give a young adult with cancer the adventure of a lifetime!

Here's how it works-

1. Choose your challenge. I would recommend something that's way out of your comfort zone.

2. Sign yourself and/or a team of friends up for your challenge on TEAM FD. Tell people WHY you're doing this.

3. Set a fund raising goal. $1,000 sends a participant to a week of camp at FD

4. Email your community and ask for their support

5. GET R DONE!

If you run into any problems or have any questions, email First Descents at info@firstdescents.org
