Well, it brings me great pleasure to say that the Southeast is officially back! After a few years of much lower than average precipitation, this winter and spring has been pretty darn awesome for natural flow rivers and creeks. Times like these are why I live in this area.
I’m getting pretty excited about the Whitewater Grand Prix competition in Quebec in about a month. I’ve definitely been trying to get out from behind the desk and back into shape!
One of the recent trips was to the New River Dries in Fayetteville, WV. Such a sick place! I haven’t surfed the Dries in probably five years, but I headed up for a 3 day trip and was not disappointed. The level fluctuated between 45,000 and 58,000 cfs while I was there, and it made me remember just how exhausting playboating in big water can be. It was so sick though. I also got to paddle with some of the best big wave boaters out there… Benny Marr, Bryan Kirk, and Shane Groves. Good times indeed, and thanks to Kevin Mather for the pics!

Good Lines!
