Fresh back from a mission to paddle the biggest rapids on the planet, Rush and I have just spent the last five weeks between Uganda and the Democratic Republic of the Congo on an epic of crazy big water paddling. We both brought over the big Mamba despite not having ever paddled it in big water. For us, it was a wild card. In theory, we believed it would work but we also had little idea what we were about to experience. We began by lapping the biggest rapids on the White Nile in preparation of the Congo. Immediately Rush and I fell in love with boat. It would surf seam lines and turn on a dime in hectic big water where other boats would be locked down. We spent about two weeks training, paddling our boats, and getting desensitized to big water on the Nile. When got to the Congo we found a river beyond what we could have ever prepared ourselves for. The next two weeks would lead us successfully through the most hectic big water anyone has ever paddled. Speaking for the team I believe we all about as gripped as we have ever been and had an indescribable experience fighting tooth and nail to get to the bottom of those rapids. It was an all time epic which was incredibly well documented. Steve Fisher is putting together a film of the journey which will be out next spring. As soon as the website is up showcasing the photos, video, and stories from the expedition I'll be sure to post back and let everyone know. Until then, know the new Big Mamba has just stood the ultimate test and come out victorious. More soon- Tyler
