A quick interview with Team Dagger's Tyler Bradt

Now that Tyler is on the road to recovery from a major back accident it seemed like a good idea to catch up with the always positive and smooth on the water kayaker.  Enjoy and welcome back to the water Tyler!

Tyler Bradt:

Where are you from? Where do you live?

I am from Stevensville Montana but currently live anywhere my kayak and adventures take me, at the moment Hood River Oregon.

Why did you start Kayaking?

My father got me into boating when I was six. I fell in love with it right away and it has been my continuous pursuit ever since.

What makes a perfect day on the water for you?

A perfect day on the water for me is almost any day I am out on the river. I love big water, good friends, multi day trips but really any day I get to kayak is a fantastic day.

When was the last time you were scared in your kayak? Why?

The last time I was scared in my kayak was this spring.  The Little White was running about 5 feet, huge, continuous whitewater. I think scaring myself  is healthy as long as it is within reason. It means I am pushing myself and becoming a better boater.

Do you participate in any other sports? Do you think they help make you a better kayaker?

I like to do a lot of sports and mainly all of them are water based. Kite boarding has recently become an interest of mine as well as surfing. The best part is they go together really well. I think it is important to keep a healthy balance in life’s activities. It helps me keep my focus and stay active almost everyday.
