The real Reno

The best kept secret about Reno is the high sierras paddling less than an hour away. Every year I try to get up to do a couple runs on the Summit Run of the Yuba River. Usually its high and exciting and this year it did not disappoint! Thanks to Macy Burnham for the pictures and for rallying with us. enjoy and the next time your in Reno, remember to get out of the playpark.

The biggest little city in the world!

That would be Reno, Nevada. I must admit when I drive down the main street by all the casinos I do wonder for a brief moment why my car is loaded with kayaks. Oh yeah the playpark, that's right and the Reno River Festival is this weekend. Although the paddling population in Reno is booming its still a bit strange to think of it as having any kayaking at all. However Reno sports one of the better whitewater parks in the country and to top that off the Reno River Festival is a first rate event.… Continue
