I can't think of a weekend this whole year where I didn't go on some sort of adventure, from back country skiing in the Northern Cascades to kayaking trips across the Pacific Northwest. I know it's a bit late, but here's a post from a few weekends ago.

With news of all of the rivers in the Columbia River Gorge flooding, Olin Wimberg, Eric Parker and I drove to the gorge for a weekend of high water paddling and a much needed break from school. When I arrived home, there was a new Dagger Mamba 8.6 waiting for me, as well as a box from Bomber Gear. Last year, the kayaking world witnessed the explosion of water down the North Fork of the Payette and created one of the largest and most technical runs in the World. What caused this run off was a combination of several warm weeks preceding with above average snow pack and then a massive rain storm which dropped about 2in of rain. This combination resulted a utterly massive and powerful river, and if you haven't gotten a chance to…Continue

Hello all! I've got a heck of a story for yall!
Yesterday Evan Garcia, the Wells brothers (Todd and Brendan) and myself fired over to the Upper Lewis Falls, an ultra classic in the Mt Adams/Mt St Helens area. An absolutely beautiful waterfall that provides the paddler with many options to choose from as far as which line he/she wants to take - with none of them being easy.
The classic line - which comes into play later in the season when the flows are lower - is…Continue
