When I decided that I wanted to attempt to surf the biggest wave ever surfed in a kayak I had no idea I would spend so much time waiting.
The first year I spent a lot of time training and working with Randy Phillips to design a surf kayak for this project. By the end of the first year my kayak was designed and performing very well. I also felt that I had learned enough about kayak surfing that I was ready.
The second year was supposed to be the year that I surfed some…

After a few months of sitting around dreaming about getting into whitewater kayaking in Baton Rouge, LA, I finally met some people in Louisiana who shared my passion. Also, I found some whitewater in Louisiana! I'm just as shocked as you are. Here's some videos of my latest trip out to the Toledo Bend Spillway.

Green Boat Groover
Your first time floating through the Grand Canyon can never be beat. Until, perhaps, you go again, shedding the comfort and ease of rafts and stuffing your home for 13 days into a kayak.
The first question I get asked...how do you fit a groover in a kayak?

Greetings All!
Well, as the paddling season wraps up, I've been looking back at some media from what was truly an epic year in the paddling world. One event that I was honoured to be a part of this year was the Whitewater Grand Prix. You've probably seen alot of the competition media from this event, but the paddling that we did in between the competitions was every bit as incredible. One of the highlights for me was certainly…

Freezing
it's that time of year when water turns to snow and the skis come out. I was filming a tv show in Valdez, AK this summer with Dean Cummings who is one my childhood heroes. ESPN Feature
This is the ESPN segment that E:60 put together about me. Spent a lot of time working with these guys and I am happy about how this turned out. The show was based around risk so they concentrated on the most dramatic parts of my life but still a cool segment. Check it out:

The Green Race and Short Term Memory
Green Race! My most anticipated race is right around the corner, first racer at high noon this Saturday. The runs are in, the attainments done, the smack is being laid down, bets made, the list of what surrounds this race goes on and on. This year is a special one for me as its my first one back on my road to recovering from a herniated disc. It's been super fun to be a part of everything again and I can't wait to fire out of that start gate. But that's Saturday and this is…
