How to get a good photo and make yourself look cooler than Steve Fisher

Getting a good photo isn't just about finding a waterfall to kayak over and having someone take your picture. It's a lot more complicated. Below I've outlined what I do on photo shoots.

First, find a good photographer. I try to use Jock Bradley as often as possible because I know that he always gets the shot.

Then we talk about the paddling gear I will be wearing. The objective is to wear gear that will stand well (contrast.)

THE BET at the Lyon's Outdoor Games

This year I decided to make the Lyon's Outdoor Games Extreme Race a bit more interesting. I made a bet with Oskar Blues Brewery that I would win the race by at least two seconds. I frequently get asked what my schedule is like as a professional kayaker. So I thought I would post my spring schedule.

March 4-6, speaking appearance in Chicago

My first time going off a ramp

Just before flying out to Slovakia Red Bull called and asked me if I wanted to attend an event in Richmond with a kayak ramp. I had never been off a ramp in my kayak and didn't want to embarrass myself in front of 25,000 people so I turned them down. Next my team manager called and told me the city really wanted me there and that he would appreciate it if I would attend.
