Hey Heath, Linear should work well, don't know the specific name.  Might be a good idea to find another broken boat and use that since it sounds like you're working with a pretty big hole be safe andrew

i recommend you to use the same plastic of your boat,cut little pieces that dosn't affect the utility of the boat, and welth it with a heat gun .
