"I have a mamba 8.0 and this was not comfortable at all- maybe I didn't set it up right. In my creek model- the strap cut into the foam side shims. Perhaps the first photo is not sufficiently clear- but I am good at following instructions ;-)…"

First of all a word of caution needs to be expressed. This system is for carrying your boat on flat land only! Serious danger could result in a fall down a steep slope with the boat attached to you back.This system is ideal to rig up if you come to an unexpected locked gate a mile or two from the river or anytime you need to carry your boat down or up a long road. California is going off!

Spring is here in the sierras with sunshine, flowers blooming and snow melting. Most of the ski resorts have closed now and the skis are in storage. We have been making runs on Kaweah's Hospital Rock and East Fork, American's Golden Gate and Silverfork, Feather's East Branch and Ben and Jerry's. Here are some photos of what has been happening here. May marks the time when paddlers converge upon the sierras from all over the world for the best multi day self support expeditions on the planet. California is going off!
