Seat back attachment - Dagger Bayou

My Bayou kayak has the seat back straps totally gone - mice, heat, wear and tear. I would like to replace the straps so the seat back does not keep lying down when you lean against it.

Where do the straps attach to??

Will 1 inch strapping do it?
