Hi...My wife and I are very new to kayaking and recently purchased two new kayaks. The Mamba 7.5 for her and the 8.0 for me. So far we love them!
We watched all the great videos online for outfitting the boat. Andrew Holcombe has one on there that is awesome and has helped us alot. It's also here on Youtube. Great info!

The problem we have is the bulkhead foam. It is too big and does not fit. I assume that we just need to cut/shave it down to fit...but I just wanted to be sure before I start cutting.
In the video he just slides it up in there and it fits perfectly. There is no mention of cutting in any of the tutorials or literature that we found.
Sorry for the newbie question, we just want to be sure we are doing it right :)
Thanks for the help!!

Sorry this took a bit to get back to you on this. First off welcome to kayaking! As for your outfitting question you are exactly right. If the bulkhead foam is too big just cut it with a knife or shave it with a sandpaper or a sure form until you get the desired fit.
And that's a great question by the way! Please don't hesitate to ask more and hope to see you on the water. Thanks!
be safe
