FYI- replacing back-band assembly on the Mamba works A-okay

Just a shout-out to everyone with the yellow flip-switch back-band kit on their Dagger boat. I bought the replacement kit, which has the more common toggle-rail back band adjustment, and it snapped right in. No major cutting or hassles, just take your time and it will work. I had to make some changes in the elastic tension support as the new kit has different size buckles than my older mamba, but I found all the strapping materials at my local grommet shop. I prefer the additional range of adjustment in the new back band vis-a-vis the flip-switch.

Nice George, glad that worked for you. Once thing to make sure of, if you haven't already, with the new system is to still do the majority of your adjustment with the straps on the back of the backband. When you are fully snug in your boat (backband tight) you want the rachet to be about halfway down the teeth, in other words not at the extreme ends. This will give you more range and help prolong the life of the system. Have fun paddling!

Thanks Andrew- great point. I tell everyone I see with a mamba to look into upgrading with the newer outfitting. Boy the mamba has to be the best all-around boat. great initial stability but with enough rocker to give me some surfing fun.

Nice stoked to hear you like it! Also answered your question about the weight between the mamba creeker and the nomad under that thread. Talk to you later
