Dagger

First off hello all!

Looking for anyone with experience using the Dagger Blackwater II 13.5

I am in the market for a tandem that may be used at times as a solo as well. I'll be doing some fishing with it and at times will either have my wife or dog with me (but not both since my dog is a St. Bernard) :)

My time with this specific kayak will always be on lakes or slow moving rivers.

I'm just trying to get a feel for users of this kayak or anyone with input. I've been considering the Dagger along with the following as well:

Native Watercraft Miarvel 14.5
Perception Acadia II 14.0
Old Town Twin Otter
Wilderness Systems Pamlico 135T

So anyone with input on any of the above would be appreciated as well. The Dagger though seems to be the middle of all of those weight wise and I've read a few good reviews. Problem is though is there aren't many reviews of the Dagger Blackwater II 13.5 out there so just hoping for some help.

Thanks to all for the help and look forward to future chatting on this blog/forum.

We have a pair of Blackwater 2's for me, the wife, and the 2 kids (aged 6 and 8). I really like the skeg-- keeps up nice and straight... with it up, you can literally spin on a dime. Only issue with the skeg is that it seems to stick in the up position. I might swap out the skeg line with some fishing line to see if that reduces the friction in the line (which I think is the culprit). Front seat adjusts to fit the kids and also have had adults up there too. Very stable. I haven't tried it solo yet so I can't comment. Back support/adjustability is good. I'll probably pick up a bottom seat pad for my dupa (as my grandmother used to say). Light enough for me to load/unload alone (or when just me and the kids).
